IMPORTANT 18K (750/1000) gold wedding BELT with 11 links in - Lot 93
IMPORTANT 18K (750/1000) gold wedding BELT with 11 links in the shape of an 8, each centered with interlaced leaves and partially amatized. Moroccan work of the 1990s. Length: 75 cm - Gross weight: 433.18 g (traces of oxidation) Provenance : Presented to the current owner by the Moroccan royal family on the occasion of her wedding in 1998. For centuries, gold belts have accompanied Moroccan brides. Originating in ancient artisan towns, it was once the treasure given to the bride to wish her abundance and protection. Gold, solid and unalterable, represented the promise of a prosperous home and a serene future. Beyond its beauty, this belt was a token of honor, showing the value placed on the bride and a typically feminine way of showing off the offerings of the in-laws. Over time, the tradition changed but never disappeared. Even today, at weddings, the bride wears this belt like a living heirloom. Attached to her waist, it illuminates the takchita (traditional Moroccan dress). Whether heavy with gold or lighter, the gold belt recounts the beauty of Moroccan weddings, where every detail carries the echo of a wish and a blessing: may the bride's life be as luminous as the gold she wears.
