TIBET, 16th century Gilded bronze subject depicting a Shakyamuni Buddha seated in vajrasana on a double lotus blossom base, hands placed bhumisparsa mudra, gesture of taking the earth as witness, a spiked vajra resting at the front of the base. The face looks serene, eyes half-closed, nose straight and eyebrows threaded with urna. The hair is woven into fine picots and topped with the ushnisha. Dressed in a monastic robe with geometrically chiseled borders. Height: 16.1 cm
