Note:
In Japanese, Yama means "mountain" and Tana, "shelf".
Two concepts to create a unique work, Yama Tana, the "mountain-shelves". Their double face is always present, semantically and artistically: archaeological witnesses to a dreamed-of Japan, vestiges of a Japanese Pompeii, Yama Tana refuse any destination or accept several. They can be used as shelves, but they can also live as sculptures. They don't respect the boundaries between art and design. They are perfect examples of that Japanese philosophy in which a tea bowl and a brushstroke are equal.
