CHINA, 17th century Important bronze sculpture representing a dignitary seated on a throne, his left hand resting on his lap, his right hand brought in front of his bust and holding the buckle of his belt. He is dressed in a robe decorated with dragons in light relief, the ends of the garment presenting an incised decoration of clouds. He wears a Taoist headdress, his face with wide-open eyes and a long mustache and beard. 52 x 30 x 17 cm An element of the headdress is missing, restoration to the pewter, traces of gilding, missing two index fingers.
