Vincent ADRIAENSSEN known as Il MANCIOLLA (Antwerp 1595 - Rome 1675) Battle scene Canvas 93 x 193 cm Vincent Adriaenssen, also known as Il Manciolla, was a Flemish painter, brother of Alexander Adriaenssen, a still life painter, and Niclaes Adriaenssen, a portrait painter. During his career, he stayed for several years in Rome (between 1625/1645 and 1661/1675) and Paris (1642/1645 and in 1648) where he was much appreciated for his large battle and hunting scenes, often characterized by a strong dynamism and a striking gesture.
