CHINA, Qing Dynasty. 19th century Extremely rare order of the double dragon second class second rank (1881-1896) Type I By Ruch Fyodor Andreevich (Ruch Friedrich), silversmith in St. Petersburg. Silver and vermeil in the central part with green and blue enamel, in the center a carved coral cabochon. On the reverse and on the clasp of the pin two punches reading: "84*" and "ΦP" (initials of the master goldsmith) This decoration of the Qing dynasty was instituted by Empress Cixi on February 7, 1882, it was reserved for consuls general, major generals and foreign or Chinese counter-admirals. l. l. : 9,1 cm weight : 91,4 g Goldsmith who worked in gold and silver, Friedrich Ruch worked in particular for Fabergé. His years of activity are recorded between 1888 and 1910, his workshop was located on Nevsky Avenue and then moved to Sadovaya Street, in St. Petersburg.
