[ARMY OF ITALY]: 11 Posters with Autographs of Generals Very rare posters of judgments rendered by the Council of War of the Army of Italy for military. From 1797 to 1802 with sentences varying from prison to years of iron and often death sentences. These posters are printed in French on the left side and in Italian on the right side. A large part has vignettes on the header. They are posters of 1st edition before their printing in number. They are communicated to the military commission of judgment for verification and approval in relation to the minutes of judgment. They were signed in ink by the president of the commission and the clerk. Often the presidents were future generals of the Revolution and the Empire. -Poster, vignette in the header. 4th division in Treviso, September 1797. About a captain accused of having been absent from his corps without leave, nor illness, and the chief of the 6 ½ brigade of not having denounced this captain and of having received him in his corps after several months of absence. The captain is found not guilty of desertion, the corps commander is found not guilty, they are acquitted. Autograph signature of the brigade commander BOUZON. GENEVA, September 1799. Accused of having killed a woman. Sentenced to death. 2 autograph signatures of officers : ROBILLARD and DEBORD. Accused of having tried to disturb a citizens' assembly in the exercise of their worship, he is found not guilty and acquitted. Autograph signature of the brigade commander KISTER (will be general in 1799). Beautiful document.
