Table alarm clock signed 'Inv[eni]t Laresche N° 992' circa 1825. Alarm machine' patented by Laresche on December 30, 1820 to which fits either a 'repeating watch frame without gear or mainspring [of his invention], or any watch'. Exhibited at the 1823 industry exhibition, these devices, with Laresche's development of an olive oil well adapted to the needs of watchmaking, earned him a bronze medal. He had 'the merit of having made these instruments popular by establishing them at very moderate prices'. Brass and steel, dial of the movement in white enamel. L.108mm
