Bruet William - Lot 2

Bruet William William Bruet is a multidisciplinary artist born in 1985; he lives and works in Toulon. Through his photographic diversions, he distils a dark universe charged with metaphysical intentions. His enigmatic characters, half-black half-white half-man half-god, offer us a narrative to construct. He works to disrupt the reading points of our environment, inviting the creation of new territories, the renewed exploration of imaginary worlds. It is a visual experience, to see the things behind things. The masks and body modifications break the contemporary diktat of the body as standardized, linear, identifiable. William Bruet consciously reconnects with what Antonin Artaud was at the origin of a whole part of what we call performance today: the desire to inscribe art in a sacred function.
