BRIATA Georges Georges Briata is a French painter born in 1933 in Marseille. He entered the Ecole Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Marseille and was awarded the Stanislas-Torrents and Poggioli prizes in 1947. He was admitted first in the competition of the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris in 1951. In 1955 he attended Marcel Gromaire's studio. In 1960, he became a professor at the École supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Marseille. He exhibited regularly at the Galerie Jouvène until 1990 and then all over the world: Tokyo, New York, Montreal, Geneva, Beirut, Boston, Miami, Lyon, Paris.
